I'm flying to Africa tomorrow morning. It feels a bit surreal actually. A bit hard to imagine what the next 5 weeks will entail. Sharla and Judd were over for dinner, and Sharla mentioned that the Drakensburg Mountains are very cool and that I will love them. She also mentioned that Rhinos are as tall as a door way (and apparently it is not very wise to be in their way when they charge), and elephants are huger than huge. Bigger than a truck! And they occaisonally get 'playful' with safari vehicles.... hmm. It is quite exciting to be travelling to Africa. I'm looking forward to the new smells. Different noises at night. Being out in the open, the expanse of the African plains. Meeting people with a totally different world view. Seeing the beauty of the land and people. Experiencing the spiritual connection with the earth. And living out of a backpack!
I hope to be able to share my experiences here while I'm there... but who knows what distractions there will be...
